OLD FORT, N.C. (828newsNOW) — A major water line break near Auria disrupted water service for Old Fort residents Monday afternoon, town officials said.

The Town of Old Fort reported the break prompted officials to temporarily shut down all town wells so crews could safely begin repairs. As a result, residents across town may experience low water pressure or a loss of water service for at least two to three hours.

Town crews are working to complete repairs as quickly and safely as possible, officials said. Residents were asked to be patient as work continues.
