ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Groves of people visited the North Carolina Arboretum this holiday season with one objective in mind: Locate all twelve of the handcrafted Dambo Trolls.

In an innovative attempt to reignite local morale, the N.C Arboretum has partnered with Danish artist Thomas Dambo to showcase the beauty of sustainable art in the midst of local rehabilitation efforts following the destruction of Hurricane Helene.

Trolls: A Field Study has been active throughout the N.C. Arboretum trails since November 15th, allowing locals and visitors to experience remarkable craftmanship, whimsical nature exploration and be the subjects of a unique “field study” experience.

In addition to the daytime Field Study, four of the elusive Dambo Trolls can be seen during the N.C. Arboretum’s Winter Lights Exhibition until Sunday, January 4th.

The Dambo Trolls are only available for viewing during operational hours at the N.C. Arboretum until February 17th, with tickets starting at $20 per personal vehicle.

You’re not going to want to miss this one-of a-kind journey blending artistry, sustainability, and interactive storytelling.
