ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Drivers should expect more overnight lane closures next week as work continues on the I-26 Connector project.

On Eastbound Patton Avenue (I-240 eastbound), the left lane will be closed nightly from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. between Regent Park Boulevard and the French Broad River bridge. Crews will be conducting median cleaning during those hours.

A separate closure is also planned on I-26 East/U.S. 23 South from Exit 25 to Mile Marker 26. The left lane there will be closed nightly from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. starting Sunday night for median fill work.

Transportation officials are urging motorists to slow down in work zones, stay alert and prepare for possible delays overnight.
