ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Want to know what’s going on with hotels in Asheville? A new dashboard on the city’s website keeps track of just that!

Friday morning, the city of Asheville officially launched a new Hotel Overly dashboard, “designed to provide detailed information on the impact of the Hotel Overlay District,” according to a news release. The dashboard, located on the city’s Planning and Urban Design website, shows where new hotels “may be permitted by-right and includes requirements designed to offset impacts and meet key community goals,” according to the website.

The website showcases real-time data with bi-monthly updates. The site aims to provide community members easier access to project information, including number of rooms, public benefits provided and status of the project. The city says a development application is uploaded to the dashboard after the initial planning review is completed.

The dashboard is available on the city of Asheville website under the Planning and Urban Design Department pages under the “Maps and Data” tab.
