Hendersonville pedestrian dies days after being hit by vehicle

HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — A Hendersonville woman has died after being struck by a vehicle earlier this month on Spartanburg Highway, police said.

The Hendersonville Police Department responded to a reported collision involving a pedestrian at about 7:30 p.m. Dec. 17 near Nelson Street. Police said Jennifer Lynn Summey, 48, was walking in the roadway when she was struck by a single vehicle.

Summey suffered serious injuries and was taken to Mission Hospital, where she died on Dec. 20.

Police said their investigation has concluded and no charges will be filed against the driver.
