ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Buncombe County property tax bills for 2025 are now available online and will begin arriving in mailboxes later this week, county officials said.

Bills are due Sept. 1. Property owners have until Jan. 5, 2026, to pay without interest. Interest will begin accruing on unpaid balances starting Jan. 6.

Residents can access their bills through the county’s online Property Tax Finder, which also provides property details, comparable neighborhood sales and information about tax relief programs for veterans, seniors and others.

The county is again offering its Homeowner Grant Program, which provides up to $500 to eligible residents for expenses, including property tax bills. Applications are due by Sept. 30.

Tax payments may be made online, by mail, over the phone, at drop-off boxes or in person at the Property Tax Department’s new office at 182 College St., Asheville. Parking is available with validation at 164 College St. A processing fee applies to all credit and debit card payments.

The county also reminded residents that a general reappraisal is underway, with new assessed values reflecting market rates set to take effect in January 2026.

For more information, call the Property Tax Department at 828-250-4910.
