APD investigating non-lethal West Asheville gunfire, seeks public assistance

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — The Asheville Police Department is investigating a reported gun discharge that occurred Tuesday night in West Asheville at Pisgah View Apartments.

According to an APD press release, no one was injured and only property damage has been reported.

Around 10:43 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 2, APD officers responded to the gunshot report on the 30 block of Granada Street. When the officers arrived, the suspects were no longer on scene.

While canvassing the area, the officers located 42 shell casings and damage from the gunshots to three vehicles, as well as one apartment that was occupied at the time. After reviewing surveillance video, officers identified a white Mazda CX-5 or a similar model as a vehicle possibly involved in the incident.
